Use Your HSA or FSA for Postpartum Doula Support
Welcoming a new baby is one of life's biggest transitions, and you don't have to navigate it alone. If you have a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA), you may be able to use your funds to help cover eligible postpartum doula services.
Using your HSA or FSA allows you to invest pre-tax dollars into professional postpartum support, making it easier to receive the care your family deserves during the fourth trimester. Many families choose overnight care, while others prefer daytime support or a combination of both.
Overnight Postpartum Support
Our overnight doulas are dedicated to helping your family prioritize rest, recovery, and confidence.
A typical overnight shift runs from 10:00 PM–6:00 AM. During the first part of the evening, your doula focuses on preparing your home for a restful night by:
Washing bottles and pump parts
Baby laundry
Restocking diapering and feeding stations
Light household tidying
Preparing breakfast or a nourishing meal for the following day
Throughout the night, your doula provides newborn care based on your family's feeding goals, including diaper changes, soothing, swaddling, bottle preparation, breastfeeding support, and helping you get as much uninterrupted sleep as possible.
Many families tell us that overnight support is one of the most valuable investments they make during the postpartum period because restorative sleep can have a profound impact on physical recovery, emotional well-being, and the transition into parenthood.
Daytime Postpartum Support
If overnight care isn't the right fit, daytime support offers hands-on assistance during the hours you need it most.
Daytime visits can include:
Newborn education
Breastfeeding and bottle-feeding support
Meal preparation
Baby care while parents rest or shower
Household organization
Emotional support
Assistance caring for older siblings
Accompaniment to appointments and errands
Investment
Our standard postpartum rates are:
$60/hour for daytime care and overnight care Sunday–Thursday
$65/hour for overnight care Friday & Saturday
$65/hour for care with multiples
$500 enrollment fee to reserve your doula team and begin care planning
Because HSA and FSA plans vary by employer and administrator, eligibility and reimbursement requirements may differ. We recommend confirming your benefits with your plan administrator. Our team is happy to provide detailed invoices and documentation to support eligible reimbursement requests whenever possible.
