Hi, I’m Abby.

Hi, my name is Abby, and I have been supporting families as a postpartum doula with Rebecca Rose Doula Services since 2021.

I believe the postpartum period deserves just as much care, preparation, and support as birth itself. My goal is to help families feel confident, rested, and cared for as they adjust to life with their newest little one.

Certifications & Continuing Education

I am committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care and regularly continue my education in postpartum and newborn support.

My training includes:

  • DONA International Trained Postpartum Doula (2021)

  • Lactation Education & Breastfeeding Support

  • Infant CPR & First Aid (renewed annually)

  • Newborn Care Education

  • Safe Sleep Education

  • Perinatal Mental Health Training

  • Ongoing continuing education in postpartum and newborn care

I believe learning never stops, and I continually seek opportunities to better serve the families who trust me during this important season.

What Brought Me to Postpartum Work

I've always loved babies and children. As a homeschooled teenager, I had a flexible schedule that allowed me to nanny for several families, giving me years of hands-on experience caring for little ones. Through those experiences, I also witnessed the reality of the fourth trimester. I saw firsthand how exhausted, overwhelmed, and depleted new parents could feel as they adjusted to life with a newborn.

The more families I supported, the more I realized there had to be a better way. As someone who has always been a natural night owl and genuinely loves caring for babies, becoming a postpartum doula felt like the perfect fit. Helping families feel supported during one of the biggest transitions of their lives has become one of my greatest passions.

Why I Love This Work

I can't wait for the day I become a mom myself, but until then, it is such an incredible privilege to walk alongside other mothers during this special season. Every family I support teaches me something new, and it has been one of the greatest gifts and honors of my life.

The early postpartum weeks can be beautiful, overwhelming, emotional, and exhaustingβ€”all at the same time. I love creating a calm, reassuring presence so parents can rest, recover, ask questions without judgment, and gain confidence in caring for their baby.

One of my favorite parts of this work is watching parents overcome challenges, find their footing, and settle into the confidence that comes with learning their baby's unique needs.

How I Support Your Family

Rebecca likes to call me the "Postpartum Fairy," and I think that describes my approach perfectly! I love bringing a calm, peaceful energy into your home while quietly caring for both you and your baby.

I meet every family exactly where they are and tailor my support to fit their unique needs, routines, and parenting style. I especially love working longer contracts because they allow me to truly build relationships with families and become a trusted part of their village during those first precious weeks.

Some of the ways I support families include:

  • Newborn care and soothing techniques

  • Breastfeeding, pumping, bottle-feeding, and paced-feeding support

  • Helping establish healthy sleep routines and safe sleep practices

  • Diapering, swaddling, bathing, and newborn education

  • Emotional support and reassurance for parents

  • Partner education and confidence building

  • Helping parents recover physically and emotionally during the fourth trimester

  • Light household tasks, including dishes, baby laundry, tidying toys, fluffing pillows, organizing baby items, and resetting the home so it feels peaceful and manageable

One of my favorite ways to care for new parents is through nourishing food. I love preparing easy, grab-and-go snacks like lactation bites, hard-boiled eggs, protein muffins, egg bites, loaded toast, snack plates with cheese, fruit, and nuts, and chopping fresh fruits and vegetables so healthy options are always within reach.

My goal is to help you feel rested, supported, informed, and confident as you transition into life with your baby.

A Little About Me

I am married to my high school sweetheart, Chantz. We've been together for over 13 years and married for five. We share our home with our two dogs, and if you know me, you know I absolutely love animals of every kind.

Outside of postpartum work, I love camping by the river, exploring unique Airbnbs like treehouses and yurts, soaking in hot springs, visiting Fort Bragg, gardening, and learning about nature. I'm especially fascinated by entomology and enjoy discovering the incredible details of the natural world.

More than anything, I love spending time with people who appreciate life's simple joys and finding new adventures with family and friends.

I live in Plumas Lake and happily travel throughout the greater Sacramento region to support families wherever they are.

One Thing I Want Families to Know

If there's one thing I want every family to know, it's that I will always provide a safe, peaceful, and judgment-free space where you can simply be yourselves.

I will treat you, your baby, and your home with the same love, respect, and care that I would want for my own family. Whether you need someone to hold your baby while you shower, prepare a nourishing snack, answer your questions, or simply reassure you that you're doing an amazing job, I am here for you.

You were never meant to do postpartum alone, and it is truly an honor to be part of your village during one of life's most meaningful seasons.
