What Brought Me to Birth Work
My journey into birth work began in 2016 when my brother and his wife were welcoming their first child into the world and I got the privilege to watch their journey and educate myself about her birth process/story. After being a part of this I started constantly educating myself on birth and having many conversations with other women about birth. Fast forward I became pregnant with my first child in 2018. That’s when I began vigorously educating myself on my choices and options I have while planning a hospital birth. After my first birth I had many friends, family and people I didn’t even know reach out for guidance and support with their own births and that’s when I realized I found my calling to support women in birth and just jumped into going to any birth I could go to. After attending births in the hospital and giving birth to two of my babies at home with a licensed midwife my calling grew stronger to continue being a doula and pursuing a midwife license. I find great joy and purpose while supporting women in their most vulnerable time. This work isn’t something I take lightly and it’s one of the greatest service I could give in my lifetime. I have now supported over a 100 births in so many different settings being at the hospital, at home, or at the birth center in the role of a doula, a midwife student and a birth assistant. I know my end goal in this journey is to become a midwife but I’ll never let my doula side leave and I’m so grateful for all this doula work I have been honored to receive while I get my midwifery license because the lessons and wisdom I receive as a doula are shaping me into the midwife I am striving to be one day. My heart is truly called to this sacred work.
Why I Do This Work
I do this work because I do this work because supporting women during pregnancy and birth feels deeply meaningful to me. Birth is one of the most vulnerable and powerful moments in a woman’s life, and I feel honored to walk alongside mothers and families during that time. I care deeply about helping women feel safe, respected, and confident in their bodies. I’m passionate about reducing birth trauma and helping mothers have experiences where they feel heard, supported, and empowered. Too many women go through birth feeling afraid or alone, and I want to be someone who brings calm, strength, and reassurance into the room. I also believe the postpartum period is sacred and often overlooked. Mothers deserve care, encouragement, and support as they transition into this new chapter of life. Being able to nurture families during that time not just the baby, but the mother too is incredibly important to me. At the heart of it, I do this work because I care about women and families. I want mothers to walk away from their birth feeling proud, supported, and strong, knowing they were never alone.
What I Bring to Your Birth / Postpartum Journey
Families often describe my support style as calming, grounding, intuitive, and steady. I bring a strong presence into the birth space that helps mothers feel safe, focused, and supported as they move through labor. I’m very hands-on and attentive to what a mother’s body and emotions are communicating. I tend to pick up quickly on what someone needs whether that’s physical comfort, emotional reassurance, encouragement, or a shift in environment or positioning. Birth is dynamic, and I pride myself on being able to adapt and respond in the moment.
My approach is nurturing but also honest and grounded. I’m not afraid to give clear guidance or encouragement when it’s needed. Sometimes labor requires strong support and direction, and I help mothers stay focused and confident through the intensity of the experience. Comfort measures are one of my strongest areas. I spend a lot of time helping mothers physically cope with labor through techniques like hip squeezes, massage, counter pressure, position changes, movement, and helping partners become actively involved in supporting the labor.
Some of the ways I support families include:
• Hands-on comfort techniques such as hip squeezes, massage, counter pressure, and labor positioning
• Continuous emotional reassurance and presence during labor
• Guiding partners so they feel confident and involved in the process
• Offering calm, evidence-based education and suggestions as labor unfolds
My goal is always to help you feel safe, confident, and deeply supported throughout your journey.
A Little About Me
Outside of birth work, I’m a mom to three beautiful kiddos who keep life busy, fun, and full of adventure. I grew up in Loomis and graduated from Del Oro High School. I’m the youngest of five with one older half-sister and three older brothers so I grew up in a big, energetic family. My family was very involved in wrestling, and I started competing when I was just five years old. Athletics have always been a huge part of my life. I tried just about every sport growing up, but wrestling became my passion. I went on to win the California state championship in high school in 2016 and later competed in MMA, where I had two cage fights before becoming a mom. These days, I still love staying active and competitive. I train and compete in jiu-jitsu and play adult coed soccer. Sports have always taught me discipline, resilience, and mental toughness qualities that I feel translate beautifully into the work I do supporting women through birth. I’m also a very social person who loves spending time with friends and family, going on fun trips, and enjoying the simple moments in life. For me, community, connection, and family are at the heart of everything I do
One Thing I Want Families to Know
If there’s one thing I want families to know about me, it’s that I show up fully for the mothers I support. Birth can be intense, and when I am in your birth space I am there to help you through it physically, emotionally, and mentally. I am attentive, intuitive, and not afraid to step in with the encouragement, comfort, or guidance you need in the moment. My goal is for you to feel strong, supported, and never alone during your birth
