What Brought Me to Postpartum Work
My journey into postpartum care began in 2019 when I was working as a daytime nanny for a three-week-old baby. His mother was feeling overwhelmed by the newborn stage and asked if I could occasionally help provide overnight care.
That experience opened my eyes to just how beautiful, emotional, and overwhelming the transition into motherhood can be, especially for first-time parents. I quickly realized how much of a difference it makes to have someone you trust by your side, offering an extra set of hands, reassurance, and the opportunity to rest.
It was during that time that I discovered my passion for supporting mothers and families through one of the most vulnerable and transformative seasons of their lives.
Why I Do This Work
I genuinely love caring for newborns and supporting families during such a tender and important time.
The postpartum period can bring so much joy, but it can also come with exhaustion, feeding challenges, uncertainty, and unexpected emotions. I love being able to step into a family's home and bring a sense of calm, comfort, and reassurance.
Whether that means caring for a newborn so parents can get a full night of rest, helping navigate feeding challenges, or simply reminding a new mother that she's doing an incredible job, every part of this work is meaningful to me.
One of my greatest joys is watching parents grow in confidence, find their rhythm, and begin to truly enjoy those precious early moments with their baby.
What I Bring to Your Postpartum Journey
Families often describe me as calm, trustworthy, patient, gentle, and reassuring. I take pride in creating a peaceful, positive environment where both parents and babies feel safe, comfortable, and cared for.
One of the most meaningful compliments I receive is hearing parents say that after a night of support, they finally feel like they can breathe, relax, and truly rest.
I understand that every family is unique, and I never believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to postpartum care. When I enter your home, my priority is to listen, understand your needs, respect your parenting preferences, and provide support that feels natural and nurturing.
Some of the ways I support families include:
Providing attentive newborn care so parents can rest and recover
Assisting with feeding, soothing, and newborn comfort
Supporting healthy, age-appropriate sleep habits and routines
Offering emotional reassurance and encouragement
Helping parents build confidence in caring for their newborn
Creating a calm, organized, and supportive home environment
My goal is to make your transition into parenthood feel a little lighter, a little less overwhelming, and a whole lot more supported.
Above all, I want you to feel safe, confident, and deeply cared for throughout your postpartum journey.
A Little About Me
I am originally from South Africa and now live in the Arden area of Sacramento. I am a wife and proud mama to a wonderful three-year-old boy!
Family means everything to me, and I have a particularly special relationship with my mother, who travels from South Africa to spend six months of every year with us.
Outside of postpartum care, I love cooking, baking, hiking, practicing yoga, and playing badminton. I enjoy exploring different cuisines and flavors from cultures around the world.
I also love singing, dancing, musicals, and Broadway shows! I would describe myself as funny, kind, respectful, gentle, and someone who genuinely enjoys bringing happiness and positivity into the lives of others.
One Thing I Want Families to Know
If there is one thing I want every family to know about me, it's that I truly care about the well-being of both your baby and you as parents.
I believe that when parents feel rested, supported, and cared for, the entire family benefits.
I approach every home with patience, respect, kindness, and a genuine desire to make your life easier. I see myself as your third pair of hands, someone who comes alongside you, never to take over, but to help you find your confidence and settle into your new rhythm as a family.
You deserve to be cared for, too. And it would be an honor to be part of your village during this beautiful new chapter.
