Hi, I’m Daja,

Hi, I’m Dajahane, a mother of two and a certified full spectrum doula specializing in postpartum support in Sacramento and the surrounding areas. I began my doula work in 2026, building on several years of caring for infants in private nanny & daycare and home settings. Through Breathe & Bloom collective I support families with newborn care, rest, feeding, nourishing meals, and the emotional adjustments of welcoming a baby. My approach is warm, patient, and personal. I take time to understand your family so that the care I provide feels supportive, comfortable, and right for you.

What Brought Me to Birth Work

My own postpartum experiences are what led me to this work. Although I had a loving and supportive partner, we were both physically and emotionally exhausted. Between frequent newborn wake-ups, caring for our family, and trying to take care of ourselves, even something as simple as preparing a nourishing meal could feel overwhelming.

We had each other, but we needed a village.

After experiencing this with both of my children, I began exploring how families could receive the support we had needed. That journey led me to doula work and inspired my passion for helping parents feel less alone during one of life's biggest transitions.

I wanted to become the person who could step in, offer an extra set of hands, and give parents the opportunity to rest, recover, and enjoy their babies while knowing someone was caring for them, too.

Why I Do This Work

I love being someone a family can exhale around.

Sometimes that looks like holding a baby while a parent gets much-needed sleep, preparing a warm meal, offering reassurance during an overwhelming moment, or simply listening without judgment.

I believe these seemingly small acts of care can make an incredible difference in a family's postpartum experience.

Every family deserves to feel heard, respected, and supported throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Parents deserve care that honors their choices, welcomes their questions, and makes space for their emotional well-being alongside their physical recovery.

Above all, I believe no family should have to navigate this season without a village.

What I Bring to Your Birth & Postpartum Journey

I bring a calm, nurturing presence, a listening ear, and practical, hands-on support tailored to your family's individual needs.

As a certified full-spectrum doula with a special focus on postpartum care, I provide compassionate encouragement, education, and a judgment-free space for parents to ask questions, share concerns, and grow in confidence.

My postpartum support includes daytime and overnight newborn care, assistance with feeding and soothing, establishing comfortable routines, nourishing meal preparation, light household tasks, and creating opportunities for restorative rest.

I also have experience supporting families with twins and understand the additional patience, flexibility, and hands-on care that welcoming multiples can require.

I value including partners in the postpartum experience, helping them feel confident caring for their newborn and supporting the recovering parent.

My goal is never to take over, but to come alongside your family, honor your instincts, and help you feel empowered as you settle into your new rhythm together.

A Little About Me

Outside of doula work, I'm a proud mother of two, a business owner, and someone who loves spending quality time with my family.

I enjoy cooking, discovering new restaurants, and exploring Sacramento's local food scene. I especially love sharing my favorite food discoveries through content creation!

Before becoming a doula, I spent years caring for infants and young children in daycare and private home settings. Caring for little ones has always held a special place in my heart.

Motherhood has taught me the importance of patience, flexibility, and having people around you who genuinely care. Those experiences continue to shape the way I support every family I have the privilege of working with.

One Thing I Want Families to Know

You never have to have everything figured out before I walk through your door.

You can be tired, emotional, overwhelmed, unsure, or simply in need of a break. You don't have to apologize for the dishes in the sink, the laundry waiting to be folded, or the fact that you haven't had a moment to yourself.

I'm here to meet you exactly where you are, with kindness, patience, and absolutely no judgment.

More than anything, I want you to feel cared for as a person, supported as a parent, and comfortable asking for what you need.

You deserve to be nurtured, too.
